{"id":157,"date":"2025-07-05T22:33:19","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T20:33:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gaps.inaf.it\/?p=157"},"modified":"2025-07-05T22:33:19","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T20:33:19","slug":"martina-baratella","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gaps.inaf.it\/?p=157","title":{"rendered":"Martina Baratella"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Martina Baratella is a Fellow Researcher at European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Chile starting November 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is support astronomer of UT1 and UT2 at VLT in Paranal, and she is Instrument Fellow of ESPRESSO and 4MOST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She obtained her Bachelor and Master\u2019s degrees at the University of Padova in 2015 and 2018 respectively. A the same institute, she finally obtained the PhD title in Astronomy in December 2021.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"605\" height=\"819\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gaps.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/photo_baratella_lr.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-158\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gaps.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/photo_baratella_lr.jpeg 605w, https:\/\/www.gaps.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/photo_baratella_lr-222x300.jpeg 222w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 605px) 100vw, 605px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Martina Baratella \u2013 ESO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Her main research interest is high-resolution spectroscopy in optical and near-infrared of main sequence and evolved stars. In particular, she is expert in the chemical abundance analysis of young and active stars, for which she developed an innovative analysis approach. She is also involved in a few large spectroscopic surveys, like the Gaia-ESO survey and 4MOST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting February 2024, she officially became part of the GAPS Science Team, where she works actively in the stellar characterisation working group. In particular, she is part of the Young Objects and Atmospheres groups.
