Lanza"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Antonino Francesco Lanza graduated from the University of Catania in 1989 and earned his PhD from the University of Catania in 1993. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is an astronomer of the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics and a member of the International Astronomical Union and of the European Astronomical Society.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"299\" height=\"243\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gaps.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/antoninolanza.png.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-198\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Antonino Francesco Lanza \u2013 INAF OACT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>His main field of study are the interactions between extrasolar planets and their host stars. He is also interested in the physical processes related to stellar rotation and magnetic fields in late-type stars both single and in close binary systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is one of the founders of the GAPS (Global Architecture of Planetary Systems) collaboration aimed at discovering new planetary systems and investigating their properties and evolution. He collaborated to the space mission CoRoT (as a Guest Investigator) and is involved in Gaia (as a member of the CU7 \u2013 Variability processing).
